So, I have been conducting a little experiment over the past few weeks. As a special promotion to Match.com subscribers, they offered a subscription to Chemistry.com at a discounted rate. I figured, what the heck, I’ve used eHarmony for so long, let’s see what the deal is by the company that once appeared to be their most significant competition. So, I subscribed.
Here are my observations having used it for a few weeks. I would also encourage anyone interested in trying Chemistry.com to look over the information that Gary Stock published in addition to what I’ve written here. Between the two, I think you will decide your time and money are better invested elsewhere.
I can tell exactly you why the women didn't respond--they were no longer active. I am a woman who met a terrific guy on Chemistry. And so I resigned the membership when its period expired in July 2010. Well, they keep sending matches! They keep emailing that "so and so is interested in you!" "So an …
Just writing today as I am receiving no new matches from Eharmony… I’m just about 4 days into my subscrption – and have not received matches for a couple of days. I definitely have matching on. And I don’t know how to contact Eharmony directly about this. I would appreciate advice on why this is happening and how to rectify it. I would also appreciate advice on how to contact Eharmony directly. I think I’ve asked about how to contact Eharmony directly before – but if I received an answer then – unfortunately by now I’ve forgotten. I would really appreciate help!!!

So, I was seriously considering cancelling my membership to eharmony and then Monday evening I got a communication from someone who I thought was by far and away the best match I had received in the 5 months I’ve been a member. We got through the first couple of steps, but it was late and I had to work really early in the morning and fell asleep. Well first thing Tuesday morning I responded to her 2nd set of questions. I was really excited because we shared a ton in common, I thought she was really cute, and she lived close enough to me. Well i got no response and wondered why that would happen. Then I found out that it was a free communication weekend that ended that night! I couldn’t believe it. This was the kind of match I was waiting for and because it happened late on the last night of a free communication weekend (that I didn’t even know about), I’ve lost her. My question is…..when is the next one, and will I be able to find her again should she decide to come back for another free weekend. I’m can’t believe I let this one slip through my fingers.
I hate to be a downer but I've been through the same thing many times over the past several years. If I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath.
The next FCW will be ~6 weeks from the last one. I would wait to nudge her right before that FCW, unless she decides to subscribe and communicates with yo …
I am sure like a lot of people, I spent an hour wasting my time filling out the required profile information. After all, the only reason I even thought of giving this a go is because it was free to try in the current promotion. I almost gave up with frustration, but decided to see what eHarmony had to offer. Needless to say, I was really disappointed to find that I am not able to view my matches pictures and only see a condensed version of their profiles.
eHarmony wasted a hour of my time and I will never join their site. Perhaps if it took two minutes to build a basic profile, I might think different.
eHarmony is currently focused on building itself as an independent business.
“eHarmony doesn’t disclose its user numbers, but Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster estimates that its revenues were about $250 million with about 13 percent market share.” — Julia Boorstin
Around 43051 marriages (and counting) were matched through eHarmony since March 2, 2005. Around 1337 members married today. - Harris Interactive (Caveat)
