Jazzed.com will make ridiculous cash if…

…they put a button, no, three buttons, on EH proper:

Sorry we’re unable to send you matches based on your answers to our relationship questionnaire, so instead we’ve transferred your profile to our other site Jazzed!

So you wish to cancel? And you don’t care that 1 out of 4 marriages are unhappy? Try our other service Jazzed.com for free.

We are unable to find matches for you at this time. Our system constantly looks for matches for you. If you want to search for profiles on your own, may we recommend our other service Jazzed.

Sure win!

Poll 38: What if free weekends are 100% free?

The eHarmony Free Communication Weekends are awesome, but they can always improve. During FCWs, for example, non-subscribers are blocked from photos and from skipping to eHarmony Mail.

Here's a thought: Give everyone 100% access during free weekends

Feature Request: Require photos to use eHarmony

Profile 3.0 Photo Gallery

Hypotheses: According to Japanese trade body Camera and Imaging Products Association (CIPA), over 110 million digital cameras are sold every year. According to Gartner, 250 million cell phones are sold every quarter. According to USA Today, 70 million photos are uploaded to Facebook every day.

Conclusion: NOBODY has no digital photo of themselves anymore.

Hypothesis: According to eHarmony, posting a photo increases one’s reply rate up to nine times.

Conclusion: If the registration questionnaire makes photos a required step, then 100% of all members will have up to nine times more communication requests their very first day. If 60% of the matching pool have no photos and all of them uploaded at least one photo, then site-wide member communications will increase up to 114%. Obviously, 0% of one’s matches will be closed for having no photos. Finally, Photo Nudges are gone; that’s one less site function that can break.

P.S. What do you propose the site will do if one delete’s one’s photos? I propose that the photoless profile be automatically closed, with the message “We’re sorry; this member’s profile is no longer available”. The member should get a warning of course before deleting his last photo.

eHarmony would like your product feedback. Post them here.

After nine years and nine months of snobbery (“trust us, our system works, just give it time”), eHarmony finally finds the initiative to ask for product feedback in a semi-public forum. This should be interesting.

In order to get the most direct information from our Advice members, going forward we will post a Monthly Product Feedback thread dedicated exclusively to receiving feedback from members.

While we welcome constructive feedback in the spirit of company-customer cooperation, we ask that you save “venting” for separate topics.

We will read all the comments submitted, and you may even receive a comment from us occasionally.

“.. in the spirit of company-customer cooperation…” Okaaaay, that’s something you don’t read every day.

I think an official "wishlist" thread is a good idea. The product designers won't have to monitor a lot more discussions, blogs and forums to pick up suggestions. If the product designers also used it for announces future features, it'd be much better. This is a good move on their part. …

Feature Request: ‘Waiting for Response’ tab

According to eHarmony, the Archived tab was designed to help us “get organized”, “focus on your best matches” and “better manage your matches”.

It’s also the first time eHarmony has a subtab beneath a subtab, in this case “Archived Matches” and “Closed Matches”

This feature suggests another useful segregation. Continue Reading »

Tossing ideas around — What if eHarmony offered a Deluxe version…?

DeluxeThe “Personal Matchmaker Service” banner last week and a weekend of playing with Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 7 Home Basic gave me an idea. What if eHarmony offered a Deluxe version to its customers?

Deluxe will have the same compatibility matchmaking algorithm and the same guided communication process but have none of the things customers dislike or with which have bad experiences in eHarmony. Well, you guys know what they are….

First, I think Customer Service will be relieved. Instead of being on the dead-end with the same old complaint, the rep can upsell the member to the Deluxe version.
