
I want the world to know I thank eHarmony from the bottom of my heart for this Free Communication Weekend. It proves you do care for your paying customers in helping us find the love of our lives.
As I type this I see that the eHarmony servers are heavily stressed from members on their mad rush before the end of the FCW. The server turned off some member photos to cope. I still hope to hear from seven matches — I hope they can still come in.

I made two major discoveries this week:
1. A percentage of matches just stop replying. I have a person I had exchanged three emails per day over the course of three days, then this person simply stopped replying. I got two matches that stopped dead after I gave them 2nd questions after answering mine. I got three matches that dropped the ball in “Waiting for match to start open communication.”
Dating is tough. Just like real life, people lose interest for most shallow reasons. My friend stopped dating guys because he wore green on a date, or he was too short, didn’t like Oprah, or his nose looked funny. Yeah, even in eHarmony, people are normal and shallow.
I’m undecided whether to close them.

I think that a combinnation of hearing someone's voice and seeing photos might work. Some dating companies have you do a video. When I was at eHarmony, I found it hard to relate to a bunch of photos of men I didn't know. It is like looking a photos in the newspaper, might as well be the obi …
