After nearly ten years, eHarmony revises its “Unable to Match” rejection message

It seems the new wording was put in place last April 2, 2010. A little better, no? We said, “Time to rewrite the rejection message”, in August 2008, and point-by-point, argued what was awful about the past wording.

We’re very sorry, but our matching system cannot predict good matches for you.

eHarmony’s patented matching system was developed after extensive research into marital satisfaction. We use each person’s responses to our Relationship Questionnaire to predict the pairings of individuals that are highly likely to result in satisfying long-term relationships, based on what we learned through our research.

Discrimination lawsuit settles at two million dollars

Though a California Superior Court Justice ruled last October that eHarmony was unlawfully and intentionally excluding gays and lesbians from its services, the Kelly, Carlson and Soegi class action lawsuit agreed to drop the charges for a settlement of two million dollars.

In other news, the last freebie Compatible Partners subscription ended December 15. Between March 31 to June 15, eHarmony gave each Compatible Partners registrant a free six-month subscription. The last of those subscriptions ended yesterday.
