[Making a formal post to hopefully start a positive movement from what was mentioned in a comment on here]
If a dating site isn’t working for you and you aren’t an active member:
- Set your profile not to be searchable
- Delete your profile if you looked “at the pond” and found it to be “empty” and don’t anticipate using it again/signed up on a trial basis
- When they ask you for feedback as to why you are closing your account, tell them their service doesn’t work and you aren’t going to stick around to fluff up their membership numbers
- Post these suggestions elsewhere so others will follow suit

eHarmony Blog is on your side. If you have a complaint with eHarmony and you have trouble getting through customer service, let us know. Don’t forget to give your eHarmony account email address and don’t forget to give us permission to chase eHarmony on your behalf.
Here is last month’s supply of consumer complaints against eHarmony posted on the leading gripe website ConsumerAffairs.com, plus our comments. (Our favorite eHarmony Host Kate posts a timely and e-Sential article today on using eHarmony effectively. I think it’s better than the “5 Keys to Success” video that Warren made several years ago. After all, the doctor didn’t work in an inbound call center for a dating site for at least a year. Feedback?)
1. Keeping Your Expectations Real and Alive
Transforming your expectations of what eHarmony is and how it works could transform your outlook and your outcome from the service. The couples in the commercials are real, there are 236 members a day on average getting married…but what did it take to get there?

My suggestions: Read profiles before sending off that message. Only message someone if you meet what they state they are looking for. It's extremely frustrating to get 20 emails per day to surf through, only to discover they are all a complete waste of time because they ignored my "looking fors". …
