For the entire month of February, traditionally eHarmony’s busiest month of the year, non-subscribers (they cannot see how you look like) will be able to initiate and respond to communication with you and trade one or two bits of information — EXCEPT THEIR CONTACT INFO. They have to pay the subscription to do that, so make sure you capture their interest. Note that AFTER THEY PAY they will be in the boat as you are, working to convince non-subscribers to pay up.
It’s like a ponzi scheme.
The Canadians got their chance last November. Americans (and the rest of the world except Australia, UK and Brazil) and Compatible Partners members, now it’s your turn. Zoo-Wee Mama!
For tips and tricks to make the most out of this event, read our TaTftFGCE.
One of eHarmony’s decade-old UI bugs is biting eHarmony in the ass so much during this ongoing FGCE that yesterday they’ve posted a workaround:
We’re glad to hear that you have matches interested in getting to know you through eHarmony Mail. Unlike our Free Communication Weekends that we hold periodically throughout the year, Our Free Communication Event allows you to communicate through Guided Communication but does not include eHarmony Mail. If you would still like to communicate with the match who has reached out to you via eHarmony Mail, please contact us by clicking on the “Click Here” link below, so we can reset your communication. We will let your match know that you’d prefer to communicate through Guided Communication so you can communicate with such match during our Free Communication Event.
Essentially, they’re saying, “We’re sorry but he requested FastTrack, so your communications are immobilized. We don’t want you stuck, call us.”
[Jazzed is] having a drawing for an iPad every week and you get an entry for every person that signs up with your invite, so I am on a MISSION to find every single person (both in the unmarried sense and in the every single person sense), get them to sign up and I’m going to win that iPad!

The ad doesn’t say “Free Guided Communication Event” so this one may not be as awful as the 10-day event last Jul 23-Aug 1. Then again, as of today, we’re not sure.
UPDATE: It’s a Free GUIDED Communication Event. That’s it, folks, nothing new to see here.
Paid members, get ready to nudge your matches on Thursday and move them along communication until Sunday. Free members, get ready to sneak in your email address and meet the love of your life free-of-charge.
Get ready to turn your matching on (or off, depending on how you look forward to these things).
Has anyone else started to see an increasing number of matches on eHarmony that are closing their accounts after only being on the service a very short time (less than a week)? I have been seeing a couple a week that go straight from being matched with me to closing their accounts out. Certainly, they came to see what the service is like and decided against it (there’s just no way they could have met “the one” THAT quickly? This can’t be good for eHarmony’s overall “we have this many members” numbers. I wonder if they do any sort of data mining to examine behavior/patterns of early account closers to try to avoid losing them as being part of the matching pool?
Of course, what is annoying is eHarmony STILL has not fixed the “bug” where these closed matches don’t end up in the archived tab (which is where they belong). You still have to occasionally go through all of your communicating matches to find them…
The first one is easy to identify. “If It’s Love” was composed by Britons Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook in 1989 and was performed by their pop rock band Squeeze. Watch eHarmony’s ad.
The second, for the “What If” ad, is all instrumental, Continue Reading »
