The Huffington Post had published the article: “Online Dating Vs. Online Gaming: Would You Have Better Luck In Love On WoW Than OKCupid? ”
“So, would you swap your OKC account for a WoW one?” The real issue is: Lack Of Innovation & Decadence can summarize the Online Dating Industry since years.
Remember eHarmony claims 12 million members.

eHarmony Canada is now offering a Free Communication WeekEnd which is not free, it is only a dirty trick to convert visitors in paid members.
And they use another dirty trick, the “Someone had viewed your profile” feature. When you click to see who had viewed your profile, the subscribe screen appears.
Please see screenshots attached as proof.
eHarmony is nearly a 12 years old & obsolete site, and a HOAX with any scientific proof.
eHarmony Inc. which owns eHarmony, Jazzed, some % of eDarling and BetterDate, instead of innovating, patched that obsolete site with the “new” features:
Questions
and
a BIG change to the matching page experience
Chemistry is nearly a 7 years old & obsolete site, and a HOAX based solely on an ipsative proprietary personality test developed by Dr. Helen Fisher during 2005.
The IAC (InterActive Corporation) which owns Chemistry, Okcupid, Match and other sites, instead of innovating, patched that obsolete site with the new stream feature.
The Online Dating Industry needs Innovations!!! But innovations are not adding more bells and whistles to actual online dating sites. Or launching new ones with the same stupidities as the old ones.
Only 3 major discoveries can help to revolutionize the online dating industry.
I) Several studies showing contraceptive pills users make different mate choices, on average, compared to non-users. “Only short-term but not long-term partner preferences tend to vary with the menstrual cycle”
II) People often report partner preferences that are not compatible with their choices in real life. (FORGET Behavioural recommender systems or other system that learns your preferences)
III) What is important in attracting people to one another may not be important in making couples happy. Compatibility is all about a high level on personality similarity between prospective mates for long term mating with commitment.
It seems someone else is testing eHarmony Japan with dummy profiles.

because I had received my first compatible match today, March 12 2012, 7:50 AM Japanese time.
Yesterday, I was testing eHarmony Japan (not live yet) with dummy profiles and I had discovered a valuable information from the following screenshot.

I used Google translate tool and it says “99.7% of eHarmony’s members will not be introduced to you“, i.e. only 0.3% of members will be shown as a compatible partner for you; that is the power of eHarmony’s matching algorithm (the effectiveness/efficiency of the matching algorithm.)
0.3% means:
3 persons per 1,000 persons screened.
or
30 persons per 10,000 persons screened.
or
300 persons per 100,000 persons screened.
or
3,000 persons per 1,000,000 persons screened.
or
30,000 persons per 10,000,000 persons screened.

I thought eHarmony Japan was aborted and the Japanese team fired last November 2011, but the 3 months free trial screen says until 31st March 2012.
The older screenshot said until December 31st 2011.
It is not live yet, it seems eHarmony Inc. is trying to resurrect eHarmony Japan.
The Japanese will need to use their Visa credit cards to prove they are over 18 years old.
They can also add certificates for ID verification purposes.
Online Dating in Japan is not as “relaxed” as Online Dating in other countries.
How much money eHarmony Inc. had invested in developing the site for the Japanese? Who knows?

eHarmony Japan, live soon or not? or is it only a bluff to sell eHarmony Inc. to IAC (Match, Chemistry and others) for USD 500 million?
