What does this “last communication” date mean?

He and She were matches on September 28.

She viewed his information at 7:30AM on the 28th, and sent first questions one minute later.

The status is that she is still waiting for his first answers.  However, the “next steps” says “Waiting for his answers – last communication September 30, 2009.”

What can this “last communication” be, when it appears he has not responded to the first questions?  It is too early for a nudge in any case.

Either what JustAGuy said ... Or that he answered the questions on 9/30/2009 -- he communicated to her -- but he hasn't gotten around to sending his list of questions. Proof: There is no "Waiting for him to send his questions" status. GC is actually 21 steps in 10 turns. …

Are you more likely to get matched with members who are new in the last 24 hours than existing members?

This is based on the experience of a friend of mine, not my own.

It seems like she usually gets matched overnight.  But it also seems like there is a quota of about 7-8 matches per day.  We’ve experimented with turning matching off overnight.  But in the morning, when we turn it back on, it seems the system has “queued” her matches and delivers them.

Also, last night, there were no matches at about 7:30AM EDT.  But by 9:30 there were about the usual 8.  The emails are being delivered slowly, but all the matches show up in her new matches.

Does anyone know how the matching process for existing members jives with new members?  In other words, are you more likely to get matched with members who are new in the last 24 hours than existing members?

First of all, note that eHarmony Time is Pasadena, California time. 5:00AM to you is only 2:00AM there. What time did you turn it on, I'm curious. eHarmony Advice Renee has revealed that the "new match" emails and the emails related to match communications are not instant. Messages are queued/th …

I would like help from an expert on EH Matching algorithms

I’ve read all the posts I can find on this site about the EH matching algorithm.  Is there anyone out there who’s dug deep into it and would like to help me with some setting tweakings?  I’ve done some experimentation of my own and found some things, maybe two or three or four heads would be better than one.

I don’t want to get into a complex discussion here.  Please email me at redtops at yoohoo duh you-know-what.

redtop, I think this site is your best guide. The second best is the "Using eHarmony" forum in eHarmony Advice, but the regulars here have been with EH longer. I noticed that EHB's Match Settings strategy page hasn't been updated in ages. Did you find some things that might be useful to add to …

How can I be matched with younger women?

Like many I signed up for EH in the dark ages – left my account dormant – I activated it during the last FCW and got a decent discount.  However…..

I’m 51 years old.  I’m mostly interested in women in late 20′s through mid-30′s.  Apparently EH will not match men with a woman more than 75% of their age.  Originally I had my age parameters at 18 to 35 and got maybe a match a week.  Then I took it up to 38 and suddenly started getting one or two a day – most of them exactly 38.

I know EH locks your age, so to reset it I would have to create a new account.  On the one hand, I don’t really want to tell a big fib, like saying I’m 37 when I’m really 51.  However, in order to get women as young as age 28, I would have to say I’m 37.  I’m sure some women in the 28-35 range would like men like me, but EH won’t help them out either!  So I am thinking of starting a new account (my present one expires in a couple weeks), lying about my birthdate, and then telling women I’m older.  My photo doesn’t look like I’m 37, but I look pretty good for 51.

What do you all think?
