Can someone explain this to me

Why would a guy send me these three questions on Stage 3

  • Tonight you can do anything you want, no penalties, no reprisals, and the cost is unimportant. What are you going to do?
  • How would you spend a romantic evening with someone you have been dating for more than one year?
  • How would you describe your childhood relationship with your mother and/or father?

and then send me these three questions on his first message in Open Communication

  • Are you originally from this town?
  • Do you enjoy any winter sports?
  • Did you enjoy the storm?

eHarmony Fiends: Detecting them, beating them

Once in a while you’ll meet a guy (rarely a girl) in eHarmony who races you through guided communication, exchanges email addresses with you within the first messages in Open Communication (OC), then disappears. Yes, Virginia, you’ve been matched with a eHarmony Fiend.

eHarmony Fiends are members who run contests with each other (or with themselves) over how fast and how often they can retrieve the email address or phone number of their matches. To fiends, getting a phone number is called a “phone close”, and bringing a match to OC is called an “OC close.”
