At sometime on Saturday April 30, eHarmony served its three billionth match. eHarmony’s match ID hit three big ones; That’s the number of pairings the system has made since it started off circa August 2000.

First billion: September 22, 2008
Second billion: February 11, 2010
Third billion: April 30, 2011

Since February 11, 2010, the closely-guarded matching algorithm has generated 2.2 million matches a day, 94 thousand matches an hour, 1.6 matches a minute, or 26 matches a second.
