From the Washington Post: “On eHarmony.com, men 50 and older are seeking women who are six to 26 years younger.”

The Washington Post today presents statistics from Match and eHarmony on the search for younger partners, creating a mating gap.

With your age range preferences, is there a mismatch?

What do older women want?

Younger men.

Online dating services say women of a certain age want the white-haired gent, as long as he’s not too old. Women age 50 and older almost always tell eHarmony.com that they want a younger man — 10, 15 years younger, sometimes more. And on Match.com, a 50-year-old woman is typically seeking a man who is 48.

Sigh. It is a problem. As a nearing-40 guy, I’m starting to get REALLY tired of meeting women who are lying about their age… with all of the “explanations” that eHarmony slyly put forth to promote their service to people with unreasonable expectations.

Sorry, ladies. I’m fundamentally incompatible with a woman who feels like she needs to lie about her age to find a guy.

(And, yes, ladies, I’d say the same thing to men, too.)

Sigh. As a nearing 30 girl, I am REALLY tired of getting matches from perverts that are 10 to 15 or even more years older than me.

Of course I don’t want to date my Dad or Grandpa, or any other guy that thinks he is the only one allowed to get older.

Eharmony – let me set the age range – 5 years younger to 5 years older and stop sending me the old pervs!!!

Or refund me money! I didn’t pay you to pimp me out to Grandpas! This was supposed to be a match that thinks the same way! Refund please -

Wow, the trends in desired ages have changed. Before it was always older men seeking younger women, now that is outdated. I wonder why they want such young men. I would prefer actually someone who is my age or a few years older as I dont want the silly school boy.

Something is true above, I just got an answer from a man who is 53 on eHarmony, to answer my question:
” What is your opinion of traditional gender roles?”
Look, what kind of answer I got:
” I have no problem in role. One thing that needs to be clear though, all girls I have dated are in their 20′s and early 30′s. I have never dated anyone older than 33. I look a lot younger, than I am.”
Still thinking what was in connection to my question? I am 44…hmm, is he afraid to talk with women who are smarter than 20+ years old or what? LOL
