Some gift. See? Not a choice. Was forced on us.

I have tried to cancel on that stupid M2 mediagroup so many times. I have now sent both them and Eharmony angry mail. It drives me crazy and my mother is flipping out that we are going to get charged.

Well about six months after I had joined, I begin getting maxum. Even if I could see, I don’t care for that garbage, women are to be admired and appreciated for all they are within, not just what they are sexually. For the record, I did meet a wonderful woman on Eharmony, we are getting married in late 2011. She too started getting Cosmopolitan subscriptions and we can bet 50 million bucks where they came from. I’m putting in a call to Eharmony tomorrow on her behalf to get that stopped, since she is in school all day as a teacher. Funny thing too, you can’t even get a phone number to stop the Cosmo mags from showing up, she tried emailing them and tonight, I did so in more direct, all be it kind terms.

It’s not something I would buy, but it’s fun to look through. I can imagine someone uptight and conservative might be offended by the choice of magazine, but I thought it was a nice, fun choice.

Like you, I am also getting these inane magazines in the mail and like you I have tried, fruitlessly, to get the companies to stop sending me their garbage.
Could you please paste the email address of the Eharmony customer rep who finally acted on your distress?
or at least email it to me? That would be great.
Thanks for all your hard work.

I didn’t question it and I don’t think I was charged for it either. Now I will keep tabs to see if this happens again if I decide to subscribe to eharmony again.

By: LATHE2ND http://eharmony-blog.com/937/comment-page-1#comment-99756 LATHE2ND Thu, 14 Jan 2010 21:10:24 +0000 http://eharmony-blog.com/?p=937#comment-99756 Today I was shocked to find out I recieved a copy of Maxim magazine in my mail.
I contacted Maxim at 1-800-829-4321 to find out how I was subscribed. They were polite and informed me that it was billed through an eHarmony subscription. I had subscribed to eHarmony for a month, but had deleted my account about 8 months ago.
I keep a close watch on my accounts and there as of this moment are no charges for anything suspicious that could be related to the magazine.

After a little research I feel I have gotten to the bottom of this:
I am very upset that eHarmony sold my info to Magtracker.com aka bluedolphin. The toll free numbers do not allow you to speak to anyone, they refer you to their website which I could not view because of my cookie settings.

It appears this was a free perk somehow eHarmony felt I needed. I am a Christian and find this type of porn (however “soft Porn”) very offensive.

I am a single father with 2 teenage sons living with me. They do not need to be exposed to this type of trash!

NICE JOB eHARMONY – NOT!

In January you apologize for sending me unsolicited porn. Now, it is
March 22, 2009 and the Porn magazine is still being sent to me. I
just received another one in today’s mail.

STOP STOP STOP

You better believe I am going to be discussing this sickening act of
yours on my television show. I have also filled out the appropriate
form with the USPS. See their instructions below:

Stopping receipt of unsolicited “obscene” mail

You may file PS Form 1500 at a local Post Office to prevent receipt
of unwanted obscene materials in the mail or to stop receipt of
“obscene” materials in the mail. The Post Office offers two programs
to help you protect yourself (and your eligible minor children).

Option 1: Application for Prohibitory Order (requires the
objectionable mailpiece)

Under the Pandering Advertisements Statute, 39 USC 3008, if you are
the addressee of an advertisement, and consider the matter (product
or service) that it offers for sale to be “erotically arousing or
sexually provocative,” you can obtain a Prohibitory Order against the
mailer. You apply for the order by submitting the entire advertising
mailpiece (the original, NOT a photocopy) with a properly completed
application. Minor children under 19 years old and residing with you
may be included in the application.

o Provides a deterrent to continued mailings by a specific
mailer advertising a product or service you consider erotically
arousing or sexually provocative

o You are required to save all materials, including the
envelope and the entire mailpiece and then attach the entire opened
mailpiece to PS Form 1500

Probleme is, having completely forgotten, when I saw that my account with “Blender” (more accurately ‘PalmCoast Media’) was “already paid,” I immediately figured I’d ben slammed AND they were somehow debiting my checking/debit-card account for a subscription. I wasted a good half hour of my life straightening it out. A letter or note (reminder) would have seemed to me a simple, common sense courtesy.

Some people are blind, I’m afraid, because many people report receiving magazines in the mail without knowing anything about it.

http://advice.eharmony.com/?page=view_thread&TID=13706, dated 3 July 2008, is the latest proof.

Notification that a magazine is included in your membership, free, is right there for everyone to see!

You’d have to be blind not to notice.

It clearly states it and there’s a big cover of a magazine and 10 to choose from. It gives you the ability to decline the free magazine too.

Thanks for the added benefit – I love eHarmony!
