Some members aren’t part of today’s Free Communication Weekend. I guess eHarmony is testing a pricing strategy with the FCW. Some members are excluded from this promotion.
Recently, eHarmony Australia and eHarmony Canada have been increasingly independent of the deals offered to eHarmony US. I am seeing that Australia and Canada registrants are excluded from today’s Free Communication Weekend. (A Canada registrant is one who registered in .ca, who is redirected to the .ca site after log in, or who paid/is billed in CAD. For more info, read this post.) In particular, there is no mention of an FCW on Canadian TV this weekend.
By the way, eHarmony Australia, Canada and US have different sets of promotional codes. At the moment, Australia and Canada don’t get a lot. eHarmony Australia just got their first set of promo codes a couple of weeks ago. This means that, if you’re looking for a deal, it’s best to register in eHarmony US, whatever your home country is. In addition, right now, the relative values of the US, Canadian and Australian dollar show that eHarmony US is cheapest.
Someone in the US reported to us yesterday that she didn’t receive a Free Communication Weekend announcement email last week. In fact, FCW8 had no advance announcement on the Internet. Also, two weeks before FCW8, someone in the US reported that he heard an FCW announcement on the radio. What’s going on?? All this inconsistency means that eHarmony is doing pricing experiments. Nothing wrong with this, it’s only confusing.
What non-paid Canadian members who are reading this can do is call eHarmony Customer Service and tell them, “My cousin in New York is enjoying a Free Weekend, why not me?” eHarmony CS may grant you a few days of service.
Paid subscribers see no email notice, banner or announcement about any FCW. I’m guessing that eHarmony quite hopes that they never know. Of course, eHarmony Blog can’t keep these things secret, right?
