Chart: How many register on eHarmony in a day? – May 2008

How many new members join eHarmony every day?

(Reposted and updated for May 2008.)

Over the years eHarmony’s newsletters and press releases share in bits and pieces the size of its profile database. For example during eHarmony’s last anniversary in August 2007, they reported to have “over 17 million registrants.” Seventeen million of course includes the underage, the rejects, the now-marrieds, the banned, and the duplicates (i.e., people who took the test twice or more). From these bits we can interpolate and chart eHarmony’s membership growth:

eHarmony Membership and Registrants per Day

The chart comes from this data:

  • Aug 2000 - opening
  • Dec 2000 - over 20,000 members
  • Oct 2001 - over 100,000 members
  • Aug 2002 - over 400,000 members
  • Oct 2002 - over 500,000 members
  • Jan 2003 - over 1,000,000 members
(May 2004: “quadrupled from Jan 2003″)
  • Jan 2004 - over 3,000,000 members
  • May 2004 - over 4,000,000 members
  • Aug 2004 - over 5,000,000 members
