eHarmony Australia is finally mentioned in the news.
A dating service that uses the patented Compatibility Matching System to find members suitable partners from their psychological profiles will officially launch in Australia tomorrow.
In one of the biggest projects of its kind, Oxford University researchers studied more than 700 Australian married couples to develop a country-specific matchmaking formula for website eHarmony.com.au….
The Oxford University research into the compatibility of couples involved Australian scientist Dr Monica Whitty, a former graduate of Macquarie University and expert in the psychology of Internet dating.

For the much less populated country, 700 married Australian couples give more than double the representation of Australia than the 5,000 married American couples from which the initial version of the eHarmony Compatibility Matching System was based.
Who is Dr. Whitty? She coauthored “Cyberspace Romance: The Psychology of Online Relationships” (2006, ISBN 1403945144) which she claims to be the “first academic psychology book on online relationships.1” She teaches at Queens University.
