New eHarmony feature coming: “Who has viewed me”?

I just signed in and as “My Home” loaded, I noticed a second tab flash on screen next to “My Matches” with the label “Who has viewed me”, which is immediately be disabled/hidden.

Anyone else see it? I was able to find its HTML code embedded in the page, easily enough.  I wonder if the page can be tricked into activating it before it is released to the general public…

It sounds like a re-hash of the “let your match view you first” trick, though.

      Sure, it can be tricked… by running this code on the page

      javascript:document.getElementById('tabButton1').show();

      (Each browser has it own way.)

      For now, the “Who’s Viewed Me” tab is worthless though. Clicking on it shows an empty panel.

      Because displaying “who’s viewed me” gives a sure indication who isn’t a dead profile, I have a feeling this future feature will be pulled out. (“I’ve been a paid member for 5 days but no one has ever viewed my profile. Gimme a refund!”)

      I don’t know that this news deserves a separate post, though, since it is pretty obvious and prominent on your “Welcome Back” page.

      Looks like there is data from about 1 week in it. There is a way for “anonymous browsing” which will probably render it useless if most users opt for that, although I don’t think anonymous browsing bears much for “determining their level of interest” and you can’t really use it to make a decision to close a match. Case: A match might view you but might not be a paying member and thus be unable to respond to communication but is interested in communicating once they get around to subscribing.

      I guess a few more days of using it and looking at what happens with the data will determine what purpose it will end up serving users of the service. Maybe to get those shy folks who are tentative about starting communication to do so when the bolder of the two sees the other looking at their profile several days in a row…

      Extension of that last thought:
      Save your nudges for FCW but look at their profile on a semi-regular basis to continue to show interest?

      I have 40 matches in my WHVM list, but I see no match appearing more than once. Let’s see tomorrow.

      Eharmony dues are WAY too high. Let’s do something about it. I keep getting emails from women who want to meet me but I can’t see their pictures because I’m not a member. But they think I can! And so these “Free Communication Weekends” are there to build up a FAKE MEMBER BASE so peopel will pay outrageous monthly fees thinking eharmony rocks when it TOTALLY doesn’t. To save these poor women from thinking I can respond back, I just REMOVED MY PHOTO from my profile. I suggest ALL OTHERS NON-MEMBERS do the same. If every non-member does this, I assume that more than 1/2 the photos will come down, followed by 1/2 their members leaving, followed by eharmoney monthy rates dropping by about 1/2, which is where they SHOULD be. Good luck and REMOVE YOUR PICTURES ASAP non-members!
