Can someone explain this to me

Why would a guy send me these three questions on Stage 3

  • Tonight you can do anything you want, no penalties, no reprisals, and the cost is unimportant. What are you going to do?
  • How would you spend a romantic evening with someone you have been dating for more than one year?
  • How would you describe your childhood relationship with your mother and/or father?

and then send me these three questions on his first message in Open Communication

  • Are you originally from this town?
  • Do you enjoy any winter sports?
  • Did you enjoy the storm?

How the hell does his mind work? Can someone explain this guy to me?

Without context, this is a pointless question.

Was his initial contact word-for-word those three questions, or did he work it into his initial contact? I think those three “open communication” questions are very much in a “let’s find out some specific things about this person” – and the last bit (the storm) actually seems to be trying to express interest in you.

I have an explanation. In Stage 3, it is all too easy to just click on 3 canned questions to send. The people who do that are often not very interested in you, and the communication fizzles out soon after. Nevertheless, you should continue to communicate with this guy. He might turn out to me more interested or interesting than he first appears. Hope springs eternal :-)

He’s new to eHarmony, and doesn’t really know how to communicate well through “the system”.

    This doesn’t necessarily make him a bad guy… :-)
