Yes, eHarmony is giving away free membership subscriptions in Australia. Yes, the site is up (it went live yesterday?) and there are no announcements or press releases yet. Yes, you heard the news first here in eHarmony Blog.

(note: not an affiliate link. We make no $$ off your click.)
The fine print says:
This FREE offer is available in Australia & New Zealand for new members only. We have the right to discontinue this FREE offer at any time. If you have already subscribed to the FREE offer, you will be able to complete your 90 days without charge.
Of course, why not try joining, then migrating:
Something to try: Live first in Australia (you and your credit card), then “migrate” to your original country after you get your free 90-day subscription.
The largest city in Australia is Sydney, and Sydney’s postal code is 2000. Check out our tipsheet for answering the questionnaire.
We’ll keep you posted when we find more information.
SITE REVIEW and UPDATES:
- That’s strange. I can’t find any pricing. It gives everyone who joins 90 days free, with a AU$29.95 optional monthly auto-renewal (AU$29.95 is worth US$26.34 today.) but there’s no telling how much subscriptions cost. Anyone know?
- Premium Personality Profiles are US$9.95 each.
- This may be a bug: While logged into Australia, one can switch to the US site and, apparently, extend one’s membership there.
UPDATE: eHarmony Australia launched on 4 February 2008
- The News.com.au article implies that eH Australia uses a matchmaking algorithm based on marital success among Australians.
