Why do you think there is no write-in option when closing a match? What is eHarmony trying to prevent? Is it a justified precaution?

I think it is because there are people out there who would be abusive.
It would also be a customer service nightmare.

Give them a blank to fill in and most people will still check the “Other” box. Think of how many people won’t even take the time to personalize their answers to their first questions for someone they WANT to communicate with.
As much as I would like to know exactly why, I think the “rip the Band-Aid” method of getting rejection is probably best in the long run.
