“Besides love, what one trait have you noticed in couples that have maintained a successful relationship for many years?”

Here’s how I answer this

The trait I see present, in all couples (and friends) whom I know have been together for 30-40 years, is flexibility: the ability of both to discuss, compromise and adjust.
