Here it is, a Premium Personality Profile

PPP UpgradeThe ads are all over the site, but there’s very little information on it:

The eHarmony Premium Personality Profile is an expanded version of our standard Personality Profile. Based on state-of-the-art psychological research, it provides you with an in-depth analysis of 15 critical aspects of your personality and allows you to:

  • Discover your best qualities and areas of improvement
  • Learn how aspects of your personality directly impact your personal and professional relationships
  • Empower yourself with a deep understanding of what makes you who you are

That’s it. No guarantees, no refunds, no samples, no acrobatics, no light show. 15 (web)pages of goodness for a low price of $19.95.

You also get a nice yellow icon.

= you Paid for a PPP

Scott says,

Finally met someone who paid for the expanded personality profile.

How do I know?

Because it sticks an icon on the “About me” page when you buy it.

Basically, tagging yourself as a sad, desperate person. Good going, eHarmony…

Hahaha. This is what Scott is saying; here’s how it looks like:

I don’t know, Scott. If someone wants to spend $20 to “discover your best qualities and areas of improvement”, “learn how aspects of yada-yada” and yada-yada, I say, good for her. People spend more on fortune tellers for less gain.

It used to cost $9.95 when eHarmony introduced it six months ago.

I bet people are curious though — what does the expanded profile look like?

Fifteen Page Premium Personality Profile Provided for Perusal

It so happens that I have an actual Premium Personality Profile hanging around here. It’s not a sample, it’s from an actual person who paid money to get a PPP. Here it is, converted to PDF, for anyone who cares to see.

Each link is a PDF between 71 to 82 kilobytes. You will need Acrobat Reader to read them.

I know they are weird headings, but what can we do? I mean they could have stuck with either nouns or adjectives. I looked up “Information Processor” in Wikipedia and got a laugh.

Did anybody here buy a PPP?

So here’s the deal – a bit ago, I was notified I had a free invitation to get my identity verified. I shrugged, and went through with it. Didn’t pay a dime. I’m sure they flogged it to me to try and encourage others to do it.

Want to bet that most of the people who did the Premium Personality Profile got a freebie as well?

Does anyone who has done this know if doing the premium Personality Profile improve matches somehow? If not, what is the point? Just greater personal understanding? Do other people get to read it if you want them to?

I will bet money that it has no effect on matching.

It replaces the personality profile so if you let your matches see that, they’ll see the PPP.

By the way, eHarmony’s PP and PPP are based on the Five Factor Model — see http://eharmony-blog.com/884 .
