New eHarmony Feature: the Premium Personality Profile

Ok, as many of you may be aware, for about $10 US, eHarmony is offering a premium personality test that adds about 10-15 more questions and makes your personality profile look different and be a little more accurate.

What’s the point?

Well, if you want your personality profile to be snazzy then by all means buy this little option and it will look snazzy and be more accurate. It really is nothing more than a vain attempt to get more money out of you. However, it is possible that it may help who KNOWS?! Anyway I digress. I think I need something to help me swallow this painful $10 cheesecake.

Not only does it cost money… it’s probably going to HURT your results.

Here’s my opinion about revealing your personality profile ( http://eharmonycracked.blogspot.com/2007/05/about-that-personality-profile.html ), and some real research (done by real scientists) to back that up. ( http://eharmonycracked.blogspot.com/2007/05/new-research-on-online-dating.html )

Thank you Pokesomi for the writeup. Scott I agree with you. What I’d like to know is — and maybe someone can answer this — if it’s only for my private reading, is it worth the money?

I’m sure eHarmony asked around first for market interest before telling eH Labs to make this and then offering it for sale at $10.

Also, does eH provide a sample? or can someone anonymously post his or her PPP, so our readers can know what the deal is all about?

My guess? I’ve sucked in a few dates who said that they only logged into eHarmony to get the free personality profile. I don’t know if these dates were telling the truth, but I imagine that “nerfing” the free personality profile, and charging for a more extensive one might shake some money out of the people who only came for the personality profile.

It makes sense to me, anyway. Not that I’d buy it, but…

Oh, I finally ran into someone who bought the thing.

Yes, when you buy it, they tag a little icon on your profile. So you can show everyone what a desperate idiot you are.

    What ARE they thinking?
