Is it just me or are eHarmony press releases becoming funnier every day? I posted about this a few weeks ago! What a coincidence! This is from this morning:
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–StrongMail Systems, Inc., the innovation leader in email infrastructure software, today announced that eHarmony, the Internet’s #1 trusted relationship service, has selected StrongMail as its new email delivery platform for marketing and transactional email.
More than 14 million registered users from all 50 states and more than 200 countries take advantage of eHarmony’s patented Compatibility Matching System [or is it the other way around?], which serves up matches based on an extensive questionnaire process. eHarmony’s success in bringing people together is driving 10,000 – 15,000 new online registrations every day. On an average day, more than 90 eHarmony members marry as a result of being matched on the site (Harris Interactive, 2005).
“Getting email to members is essential to our business, and StrongMail will enable us to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of that critical communication channel,” said Greg Steiner, president and COO of eHarmony. “By entrusting our marketing and transactional email delivery to StrongMail, we are making a sound investment in a core pillar of our business.”
StrongMail will also provide eHarmony with unprecedented real-time visibility, tracking and management capabilities to maximize the delivery and effectiveness of its outbound email. Using StrongMail’s Live Updates, eHarmony will be able to optimize its email delivery to major ISPs and corporate domains, while StrongMail’s Smart Bounce Management will enable eHarmony to identify and address any email delivery issues.
StrongMail integrates a complete set of delivery, tracking and management capabilities into a single platform that is optimized for high deliverability. StrongMail has the most sophisticated bounce management technology in the industry, providing granular visibility into delivery rates with clear, actionable steps to correct erroneous ISP blocks or failures. Because deliverability parameters are constantly changing, StrongMail continually pushes updates to its software installations, including the latest throttling limits, bounce codes and other ISP rules to keep its customers performing at maximum efficiency. Yes, eHarmony has hired the most sophisticated technology so that its constant reminders, nudges and “it’s your last chance for 3-for-1″ email messages don’t end up in Spam or Junk folders or banned into ISP blocklists.
Meanwhile, emails from other dating sites get blocked. For instance, True and PerfectMatch’s emails never gets past my Gmail Spam folder.
Take note: 14 million emails in 24 hours = 162 emails per second. Try clicking «Send» that fast by hand!
