Couple’s heavenly marriage started on the Internet

DANVILLE — It’s a marriage made in heaven, except that heaven used the Internet to make it happen.

The Rev. Douglas Sweet, pastor at the Danville United Methodist Church, Danville, VA, and his wife, Ann Edenfield Sweet, who lives in Albuquerque, N.M., met on the Internet dating site eHarmony in March 2005, paired up by the eHarmony matching system.

“But we didn’t follow the eHarmony path at all,” said Sweet. “They put you through a loop of questions. We got through all the questions in one day.”

“And then I gave him my phone number and e-mail address,” said Edenfield Sweet. “Immediately we felt a real strong sense of trust.”
