Closing a match because “I’ve already married and divorced him”

Would it be possible that you already married your eHarmony match? 8O Yesterday, Elaine from London, UK wrote:

So, you know how on eHarmony I get matched up with people without any real control…their system matches people up?…Well, on Wednesday I got matched up with a “Dana” from Indianapolis

Elaine says:
No FUCKING way

Sara says:
YES

Elaine says:
You have got to be kidding me

Sara says:
NO

Elaine says:
It was him???

Sara says:
It WAS!!!

Elaine says:
hahahaha….”eHarmony matched me with my ex-husband”

Sara says:
He fast-tracked me and wrote “hey, don’t i know you from somewhere?” Thing was, I didn’t even recognize his picture, isn’t that crazy?

Elaine says:
You didn’t recognize his picture! Man, you repress things SO well

Sara says:
I pulled it up and immediately told my friend, “No, that isn’t him”. And then I started reading the profile…same job, same age, doesn’t like condiments, never drinks

Elaine says:
It actually SAID that he didn’t like condiments? He put that in his profile?

Sara says:
I was like, wow, this guy is just like Dana. Yes, he put that in his profile.

Elaine says:
hahaha, I am dying

Sara says:
So was I!!!! And finally I pull up the picture again and stared at it for awhile, and realized it was him after all. The picture threw me off because he was in this preppy looking outfit – dark sweater, collared shirt underneath with sleeves rolled up slightly.

Elaine says:
So how do you feel about this? Does this destroy your faith in the eHarmony automatic-matching system? Because, I mean, really, that relationship was doomed from the get-go.

Sara says:
Actually a nice looking outfit, and the picture was black and white and taken from this sort of artsy angle

Elaine says:
Hey, maybe you should give him another try!

Sara says:
Yes, at first I really lost faith in eHarmony. And then I thought, well, we were somewhat compatible or else we wouldn’t have gotten along, just that the relationship had no romantic potential (oops, failed to recognize that)

    Now, that’s a nightmare story!

That beats the time I got matched (on eHarmony) to my worst JDate ever…

(And I learned the lesson that people who REALLY believe themselves to be something that they aren’t… will fool eHarmony too.)

With the number of members eHarmony has, it was just a matter of time until you heard about two of them being previously married.

Are they compatible? They sure thought so when they first got married!
