We got 11% of our traffic direct — that is, 11 out of 100 visitors already had us bookmarked or were typing us directly into their browsers. On another report, “Absolute Unique: Prior Visitors” is 41 — that is, exactly 41 visitors who visited us last period went back to visit us again — I would call these 41 visitors our regular readers.

The top gainer among our referrers is Technorati. Technorati is one of the top blog search engines and, yes, we appear very prominently among Technorati’s many types of search results for the keyword “eHarmony.”

The secret to increased hits

One of the gadgets we installed in eHarmony Blog is that when someone visits us from a search engine result, the site offers several related pages to the search keyword. We don’t see many blogs using this gadget, but in our experience it significantly boosted our pageviews and significantly dropped our exit and bounce rates.
