Chemistry sent out an e-mail stating that if you uploaded three new pictures by Thursday November 4th, you would get free access from Friday November 5th – Sunday November 7th.
I uploaded the required three pictures by the deadline and they were approved, however I had no free access (aside from what one already has as a non-paying member) from Nov 5-Nov 7.
Sounds to me like they used this as a lure for users to upload photos to their account, showing that “they have been active in the past 24 hours” to the paying subscribers in an attempt to justify their service.
On Tuesday, Nov 9th, I get this e-mail:
Seriously? Where were you guys? One has to wonder if they were even aware of this bug without this blog post or if they intentionally ignored the calls/e-mails that accounts were not working (oh wait, a human doesn’t actually answer e-mails, a robot answers them and you have to reply again to get a human to look at it). You really do have to wonder where they get their programmers. With all of the glitches I’ve pointed out Match and Chemistry that they mostly ignore and don’t fix, I should have lifetime free subscriptions to their services…
Here is what their attempt to make reparations to the few accounts that didn’t get the three free days actually means:
You give me a free week to make up for yet another in a long series of software glitches that your site has been documented to have over the years. The few freeloaders that bother to be active/available during the free weekend no longer have access, so the chances of me communicating with the majority of the accounts on your service (mostly non-subscribers) is now zero. Instead, I have the small handful of subscribers to try and reach over the period of the week who usually do not respond anyhow.
Is there ANY dating website/service that actually works right/has a clue? Apparently not.
