Q&A: What are the two songs in eHarmony’s two latest “Love Begins Here” commercials?

Answer:

The first one is easy to identify. “If It’s Love” was composed by Britons Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook in 1989 and was performed by their pop rock band Squeeze. Watch eHarmony’s ad.

The second, for the “What If” ad, is all instrumental, is entitled “Nick and Sheeni Make Love” and is composed by newcomer John Swihart. It’s the last track of the original soundtrack album of last year’s Michael Cera movie Youth In Revolt. Swihart’s movie credits list includes Napoleon Dynamite. Watch eHarmony’s ad.

We hope this helps.

UPDATE: Anthony Marinelli of Music Forever put out a press release on 1 October 2010 claiming that Marinelli picked these two songs. Music Forever did not credit Swihart.
