Fox Business Network interviews eHarmony on its 10th anniversary

CEO Waldorf talks about post-decade plans and says he doesn’t need cash at this point. Last month’s mobile app now generates 10% of site traffic; surprise since they don’t promote it. Below also is the first press mention of their ties with eDarling.de.

    1) eDarling (eHarmony owns 30%) is eHarmony rebranded and improved for some European countries like Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland.

    2) I had tested eDarling Spanish and German versions with dummy profiles.

    - eHarmony does not give you a % of compatibility with other prospective mates, but eDarling does express compatibility with a percentage!

    - eDarling allows you search by your own (personal search criteria).

    - eHarmony shows you a written result of your personality test, eDarling shows bars in the 5 different personality traits.

    - eDarling discloses when it was the last time a profile logged-in.

    - at eDarling, no more “29 dimensions of compatibility” as eHarmony.
compatibility at eDarling is based solely on some kind of personality* similarity**

    * personality with Big5 normative test, I suspect provided by SignalPatterns.
See eDarling, SignalPatterns and US Patent Application 20090249234 connection
    http://onlinedatingsoundbarrier.blogspot.com/2010/06/edarling-signalpattern-sconnection.html

** I suspect, but not sure, similarity is calculated using a balanced mix of similarities and an optimal complement instead of using DAS (Dyadic Adjustment Scale) as eHarmony.

The compatibility test consists of 11 steps.
    Step 1: About You
    Step 2: Describe personality
    Step 3: Describe personality
Step 4: Aspects of your temperament/character
    Step 5: Your strengths
    Step 6: Attitudes
    Step 7: Interests
    Step 8: Personality (test)
Step 9: Relationship with your mate
    Step 10: Preferences
    Last step: About you

eDarling uses the Big5 to assess personality of daters and eDarling expresses compatibility with a percentage like 75%, 80%, 95%, so it suffers the range convergence phenomenon, 3 to 4 persons compatible per 1,000 persons screened, in the same range as searching on one’s own or recommendation engines.

This blog SHOULD really review eDarling and compare with eHarmony using screenshots.
Not sure if it is forbidden to do that, and prove all what I had written above, because you could “uncover the pot” and destroy eHarmony.
