You don’t reply to Goodbye flowers!

This post has nothing to do with eHarmony, matches or whatever. Instead, this post is for all the women out there:

Ladies, if you dumped someone, and then he sends you flowers with a note that ends with,

Calla Lily

… If you change your mind, give me a call.

don’t ever, EVER, reply to it. Don’t leave a voice mail, don’t send an email, don’t send an ecard, and don’t tell a common friend to pass along a message. No matter what the message is! They are Goodbye flowers™ — don’t you see?!

Men do not send flowers to women who have just dumped them because these men are just interested in being friends instead. No! Have you lost your marbles?! Any (and I mean ANY) act in response to the flowers means that you aren’t serious in dumping him. You still care.

Men know this. The sole purpose of Goodbye flowers is to pluck your heartstrings so you call him back.

    This article makes no sense.

Of course he didn’t send the flowers to be “just friends”.

Your text says exactly what he is asking:
“… If you change your mind, give me a call.”

    If the text said:
    “… Lets be friends”

    I agree with you.

But the note states exactly what he wants to express.

    ie:
If, down the road, you found out that the grass is NOT always greener with someone else, and you regret breaking up with him, give him a call. He would be thrilled that you did, and would hold no ill will.
