Without looking at this guy’s profile (and thus appearing to be the stalker that I am), he is in my “archive” because he closed me. I thought that sorting by “recent activity” would tell me how frequently he was logging in, and but I don’t think that’s what it’s doing because there are people farther down on my list than him in this sorted view who have logged in with both more and less frequency than him. What does “recent activity” refer to, then? I am also certain that it isn’t sorted by the date the person closed me (or vice versa) because he closed me Jan 20th, and there are people both higher and lower on this list who have closed me both before and after that date. I’m super confused…

Two months ago we suggested something to reduce clutter, the Waiting for Response tab http://eharmony-blog.com/1931 . As of now, until you close them or they respond, they’ll just sit there as “Waiting” in the Communication tab.

By: Ethan http://eharmony-blog.com/1945/comment-page-1#comment-104862 Ethan Fri, 16 Jul 2010 06:02:49 +0000 http://eharmony-blog.com/1945#comment-104862 Do you know why I can’t archive a match that is on the Communicating tab? I have a couple of matches (just a couple) where communications has stalled – I’m waiting for them to respond. My options are to leave them there on the Communicating tab, or close them.

Closing will prevent them from ever responding – I don’t want to do that (I have no reason to burn bridges). But I also don’t want them cluttering up my Communicating tab either.

What I would like to do is move them to the Archived tab. They probably will never respond, but I don’t want to prevent them from responding. So putting them in the archive makes the most sense. But that is the one thing eHarmony doesn’t let me do.

I know I also have the option to nudge them. But what if I don’t want to nudge them; what if I want to play it cool? Or, what if I do nudge them and they still don’t respond? I’m back where I started. Probably eHarmony recommends I close them at this point… I’ve given them enough chances, so I should now block all communcation? Is that the case? Have I answered my own question?

If she goes there and looks for you there, she can find your OC message. It takes a dozen clicks to do this. It ain’t easy. Meanwhile, shortly, she will get the ‘communication received’ email notification. This email is sent from a separate queue, so she would receive it within minutes or within hours.

I mean, functionally, it would be awesome to actually know at least the basics. (i.e. how does archiving really work? What does “not important” mean in height, how “recent activity” sort…etc)

I have noticed that some e-mails that are sent out still reference links, pages or structures that no longer exist.

I’ve seen a couple of my new matches move to my Archive tab after I sent them a communication and did nothing else. I assume they archived me and their profile was moved. Thanks

I got to OC, but after a “thanks but no thanks”, I closed the match.

Do they get the message first then see that they are closed in the Archived tab, or they never actually get triggered to read the “thanks but no thanks” last message?

These matched I had already closed either in 2008 or 2009…and were in my closed folder (as of 2 weeks ago) since I chose to close over a year ago…

Why would they be moved from closed into archived?? I never did that, I closed them for a reason, why would they show up with “re-open”??

It must be an error with eharmony. Since I didn’t get a message from Customer Service with a request to re-open. Has anyone else had this problem?

Does that mean they want to re-open communication?? Or is this a mistake??
