I hate Free Communication Weekends

As a subscriber, I turn off matching and I almost never visit the site during free communication weekends. I know why they exist and I’m resigned that they exist, but my matches only get to hear from me AFTER the event.

Why?

Because non-subscribers don’t see photos during an FCW.

Because there are much better ways to spend a Tuesday afternoon than emailing photos to somebody whom I’ll never hear from again.

If I do get a “Match Communication Received” email during the weekend, sure, I will reply and move him along communication until Sunday.

Otherwise, well, see all of you on Tuesday.

Say “Aye” if you agree.

Why? They are perfectly good matches? ;)

Reminds me of the “rollover minutes” commercial, I think it is AT&T’s?

The FCW is what it is. You never know what might turn up. Folks have met and married (according to eH) during FCWs. Sending an e-mail with photos is pretty low stakes but I do agree that more often than not, folks aren’t interested, for one reason or another.

This is the reason why eH should show pictures to all members, paying and non-paying. All the time. I think it is positively stupid of them to not show photos when they could be bringing in at least a few more folks as subscribers when they see what they like. OTOH, maybe that’s the problem. People will see photos and run screaming because all the pretty people seem to be on Match.com (but they are ALL dead profiles from my statistics).

Right now, I’m getting days with zero matches, so I guess I’ll take what I can get. It’s easy-as-pie to respond to comms once you get a “system”. Anyhow, I’ll clear up quite a few dead matches after it is over who haven’t responded from the previous FCW.

    Hey @SingleGuyInNC

My subscription ends a few days after FCW and I am still unsure whether I will re-sub for a few months or take a couple of months break from EH. For the past two weeks I have only been receiving flexible matches, or no matches at all. Seems my match ppol has dried up. Maybe If I wait until after the New Year, maybe March or April it will be spring time, I can re-vamp my profile, and by then I will have new pics from the winter and holidays to post.

I am new to EH so I have a few questions that you or some of the other readers can answer.

I seem to have a lot of matches, but while they aren’t closed, it seems as though no one has even viewed my profile. Right now I have 12 matches and only 3 prof. views and 1 anonymous. Does this mean that the majority of my matches are non subscribers?

If you are not a subscriber, it is free to create a profile. But can you see subscriber matches photos along with their profile?

As a subscriber are the people I am matched with subscribers as well? if they have a photo posted that I can see?

I think that’s all for now? anyone who knows let me know :)

FCW here we all come! :->

    Tiffany,

    1) I would suspect that those are “dead” profiles. Either non subscribers or not interested anymore.

    2) No, as a non subscriber you can not see photos along with the profile, only the profile text.

    3) No, you’re being matched with non-subscribers as well. I let mine expire for a few months between sessions and left my pics up in case a match wanted to see me and send communication, which is what did end up happening, so at that point I re-subscribed so that I could communicate.
