There is something seriously wrong… I got no matches in the past three days

I called eH customer service yesterday to examine this. Tonight I wrote them to investigate. I said I will not renew. I reminded them they still owe me 20 days of service. In three days, around 40,000 people took the test and got their personality profile — am I suddenly incompatible with anyone?

This is what I wrote them tonight:

Subject: Complaint
Message:

username: eharmonyblog@xxxxx.xxx

This is the third day that I did not receive any matches from your service. As you can see, my match settings are already very broad. The only thing I could do is move (change my zip code) to a bigger city like nearby New York and pick “Anywhere in the world!”

Can you please look into this matter? I want to know the truth. I believe you still owe me 21 days of service. If things do not resume as they were last week I will not renew.

Readers, have you experienced a similar drought period? What happened??

I’ve had the same problem – no matches for a while now – Will they still expect me to pay too???

This is in their terms and conditions. Maybe things will pick up if you are in an area where there are a lot of eHarmony matches. However, read below.

You understand that eHarmony makes no guarantees, either express or implied, regarding your ultimate compatibility with individuals you meet through the Singles Service or as to the conduct of such individuals. You further understand that eHarmony makes no guarantees as to number or frequency of matches through the Singles Service

Don’t count on getting your money back. They might give you some extra credit time. The thing is that when you get aboard you are suppose to have read their terms and conditions. And if you sign off on those it mean you are in agreement with those terms. So, they state that they make no guarantees about many matches you are getting then by signing off on that you agree to it. You can however, terminiate your contact with them. But, read their terms and conditions.

The reason this ‘drought period’ doesn’t bother me is that I’d prefer it to some of the ‘flexible matches’ they bring me.

Some days I’ll get 5 of those, all living way further away than I find reasonable for dating purposes.

Or, they will be much older, but distance is a bigger deal-breaker for me than age.

I guess I’m trying to say, if there aren’t appropriate matches for me, I’d rather wait it out than allow eHarmony to decide that this one or that one is ‘close enough’.

has anyone noticed a pattern of when more people sign up? I’m being offered a really good deal to extend my membership but there are ZERO new matched coming in, so why bother, no matter how cheap. I wonder if there is an uptick in new subscribers after January 1. You know — new resolutions and all. Comments . . . ?
