The closed match inconsistency

Once upon a time, eHarmony decided to change the site to make “an improvement”. A few months later, yours truly pointed out that this improvement was problematic. Well, it has now gotten WORSE. Will they ever learn?

So, if you are an eHarmony member long enough, you will eventually end up going back through some stale matches and will end up seeing this screen when you get to a match whose account is no longer active:

closedmatch1

What I found surprising today was that depending on how old the match was (when we were matched) that one of two things would happen after clicking on “Close this match”:

1) You get this totally useless screen

closedmatch2

…and when you then load the link “Return to My Matches” you get put on the “Closed” tab view of My Matches.  One extra click for NOTHING.

2) Are directly sent to the “Closed” tab view of My Matches, which is equally useless, as I pointed out.

Why, oh why, can’t you just take me back to the exact same “My Matches” page that I was viewing when I picked the “totally gone” match to view?  Having only the button go away AND adding another click sending me to the same lousy page, is even worse.
