Tips and tricks: Turn matching on one full day before you subscribe

If you have matching turned off because your subscription lapsed and you want to resubscribe, make sure you turn matching back on 24 hours BEFORE you plan to resubscribe.  You can’t just turn “the fountain” back on like you used to.

I had matching turned off while I was not a subscriber.  I renewed and went to turn it back on, only to be asked to “confirm” that this is what I wanted to do.

Uhh, uhm, I clicked the button, I think I know what I want, eHarmony…

So, then it goes through asking me my current city, zipcode and preferred maximum distance.  Okay, fine…probably a good thing.

Then “the ringer” (although it has been mentioned/hinted at by their change in computing infrastructure for matching) goes something like this:

Your profile is being reactivated for matching and it will take 24-hours before it is active for matching again.

Click on “Find new matches”.  None found…most likely because of the above.  I _KNOW_ there are new matches given how long I’ve been inactive.

I resubscribed and I’ve effectively lost a day of 7-9 new matches a day being delivered and I’m paying by the day and not by the match.  ARGH!
