Not many people know that the eHarmony website has a “Checking your baggage self-assessment” test http://www.eharmony.com/findthelove/servlet/assessment (NOTE: no affiliate codes!), a 1-page 25-multiple-choice-question test that measures one’s so-called
- Self-Concept Factor
- Fear Factor
- Anger Factor
- Trust Factor
- Contentment Factor, and
- Emotional Baggage Overall Factor
in a format like “Cosmo.” The last five questions are situations such as the following:
21. Jack and Lisa have been going out for a couple of weeks. During this time, they have been talking on the phone every night. Everything seems to be going well, but suddenly Jack stops calling Lisa. Lisa waits a few days and tries to decide what to do. She should
a) just wait and see. Jack is probably busy. Lisa should keep her expectations low early in a relationship.
b) leave Jack a phone message that she is worried that something may have happened to him and ask him to call back ASAP.
c) conclude that Jack is a jerk and has lost interest and not waste time thinking about him.
Suspiciously, I scored 0 on the Emotional Baggage Overall Factor. Perhaps that is why I gravitate away from matches who proudly proclaim their distrust with people. (Sigh, distrust is a cancer — it eats away everything beautiful in one’s life.)
If you’re the type of person who trusts these quizzes, I recommend you check it out. See also our post: [ID=47]
