From Kathryn’s Reliquary: “How I Met My Hunny”

Here’s a lovely story from Pickens, SC:

I had about given up on finding a soul mate… a friend of mine suggested trying an internet dating site –eHarmony.com… that was a real stretch for me. It took me almost a year to decide to try it. I didn’t have any good matches for a while and decided to spend the money for 6 more months. I opened my profile to include the whole US and Presbyterians. LOL.

Within two weeks I was matched with a very nice New Yorker. Who, naturally, was Presbyterian. That was in January 2003. By February, we were talking on the phone. And in May, I flew up to Niagara Falls, NY to meet him in person. We had so much fun and had so much in common. I met his friends, his mom and uncle and visited his church. Long story short, he ended up moving down here to SC in June. We got engaged a year to the day that we had met on eHarmony. And then it was 6 long months until we got married in July 2004.

When I stop to ponder all the weird and wonderful things God does for his children, I am still amazed and humbled that God brought a Mennonite girl from rural Oregon together with a Presbyterian man from Niagara Falls, NY. I don’t really think we would have met in “real life.”

I am blessed beyond measure.
