Free Communication Weekend: Day 2 Recap

Whew that was a long day.

Day two of eHarmony’s first-ever Free Communication Weekend ends in an hour. I canceled my appointments, sat in front of my computer and responded to everyone. Yes, everyone! I communicated with 44 matches today. This number was easy to figure out because, sorted by Recent Activity, my screen has 44 matches with “Last Comm. Date: Sep 16 2006″

My Canned FAQ helped with the cut-and-paste operation. I spent an hour this morning deciding on a list of standard 2nd questions. I pasted that question list pasted more than a dozen times today. I nudged everyone I can nudge.

Match #49

I reached Open Communication with a down-to-earth travel agent who was deployed in Afghanistan as a civilian travel coordinator earlier this year. We talked in MSN for two hours! I feel thrilled.

That’s it for now. I love seeing that column of orange OPEN icons. I’m so tired.

Of all the dating sites I’ve ever tried eharmony is by far the absolute WORST!!! Their matches were substandard and they have the best billing scam going: They default the auto renew and charge your credit card the day before your subscription expires! I wanted to cancel my subscription the day it expired and learned that I’d been billed the day before. When I called and requested a refund (on the day of expiration) I was denied. I would NEVER recommend their service!!!

Well Nicole it says right there on the subscription page https://www.eharmony.com/singles/servlet/subscription — it’s not fine print — below the Continue button:

Please Note: In order to ensure uninterrupted service, all eHarmony subscriptions will be automatically renewed 24 hours before they expire.

FWIW my magazine subscription works the same way. I know some companies that “require” 2 weeks notice before one can cancel. eH probably also reminded you about this renewal with an email.

So you goofed and this company is strict with its billing. For this situation I suggest you contact eHarmony management for assistance.
