Unable to enter promo code

Hi!  So I’ve got about a month left in my eH subscription and I was trying to enter a promo code for a renewal but I can’t find anywhere on the site where I can enter it.  All it lets me do is terminate my subcription, and when I do the only option after that is to resub with the same or different credit card.

I was thinking I should just let my subscription time out rather than have them charge me $100 and see if I can enter a code in later.  But I’m just curious why the code entry field was there before when I last renewed but not now.  Thanks for your help!

I had the same experience. Just before my subscription lapsed I considered renewing using a code but couldn’t find the option. Now that I’m not a member, the promo code box is back.

Definitely I recommend terminating your subscription so it doesn’t automatically renew. I don’t think you’ll see higher prices if you are a non-member for a while, and then you might be able to use a code. I’ve used codes from the blog twice.

Active subscribers don’t get promo codes or discount offers.

The company’s logic is either (A) that active subscribers are already getting a Good Deal™ on their renewal rate and (B) eHarmony expects to charge active subscribers a high renewal rate (e.g., $30 a month) after their discounted intro subscription (e.g., $9.95 / month for 3 months) is done.

      Simple logic, really. :-)

smashinscott, before eHarmony charged you anything it showed you a “Confirmation” page where you are supposed to double check the amounts and all of your information for accuracy.

Below this Confirmation page it says “Click the Continue button to complete your purchase.”

Did you read the confirmation screen before you clicked the button? What did it say?
