Winnipeg woman lost $125,000 to a Nigerian scammer with whom she was matched in eHarmony, CTV (Winnipeg, Canada) reports.

“The request for money doesn’t come right at the beginning. It’ll come after some period of building up some confidence and trust,” says Detective Shaun Veldman from the Winnipeg Police Service Commercial Crime Unit.
The good news to report is that eHarmony’s Quantcast traffic report for January shows there are 86% less visitors from Ghana compared to April 2008 when we last wrote about it. eHarmony’s decision to use fraud detection tools such as Iovation’s Reputation Manager seems to be bearing fruit.
