6 Gigs of bandwidth aint enough.
eHarmony Blog is switching hosts again.
From February 1 to 16, eHarmony Blog consumed 6 gigabytes of bandwidth. It seems that our hosting plan in our interim host cannot handle more than 100,000 pageviews per month from 21,000 visits. Bandwidth limits in this day and age? I can’t believe it either.
Today we’re moving to another interim host. This one is in the Garden State. From casual observation, this hosting company seems faster than the last two.
The last Free Communication Weekend brought us traffic numbers similar to the one before: 30,000 pageviews from 5,000 to 6,000 visitors. The four days ate 1.5 gigs of bandwidth.
eHarmony Blog’s traffic patterns and trends, by the way, is very similar to eHarmony.com. According to Quantcast, our audience demographics is 58% female / 42% male.
After these two moves, I don’t know if I should begin preparing a revenue stream. The site receives 28,000 monthly visitors, ostensibly more popular than any dating site review site out there, except Online Dating Magazine. (The promotional codes page received 52,000 pageviews in the last six months — we helped save a bunch of membership fees.) Do you think readers appreciate that this site has no revenue stream, not even a donation button? What do you think? Could you let me know?
