SO confused, why do my closed matches stay forever? HELP

Hi everyone.  I am really struggling with how to “manage” my matches in EH.  I just don’t understand why if you close a match, that match doesn’t move OUT of your matches and into the “closed” tab.

For example:  If I click on the “new” tab, it shows that I have 589 matches (!!).  TONS of these are closed.  Why are they still showing under this tab?  It makes it so much harder if I want to just review the open matches I have, that haven’t been closed by either side yet.

If I click on the “communicating” tab, it shows that I have 185 matches.  Again, tons of these are closed and there is no further action I can take.  How do I move these out of my “new” tab?

This is making me crazy.  I want to be able to “clean up” my matches and I’ve spent a long time going through and closing out old matches but they still seem to hang around.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks in advance…

Hi there smartchickinfl, Welcome to EHB.

I tried various things on my end, but I can’t seem to repeat your situation.

In other words, your account is broken, as far as I know.

Please contact eHarmony CS over the phone and have them look into it on their end. Sorry I am not much help.

      Really stupid question:
Do you have the option to close those matches again?

About a year ago, I think I had a few matches with a similar problem. I can not remember what the solution was. I think I contacted CS and someone eventually fixed it but it took a while.

I assume that you have closed all those closed matches or sent them a final message. If so, then as eHB says, your account needs an adjustment and it doesn’t sound like one that the typical customer service agent would be able to do.

It sounds like a database inconsistency that a developer will have to tweak. I just hope they don’t make you re-create your account.

The last time eH did an upgrade, many members experienced the problem of closed matches showing up on their ‘new’ and/or ‘communicating’ page. They have a fix for it, just call CS, explain that your closed matches are not migrating to the closed tab and they’ll have tech services apply the fix to your account.
