On the eHarmony menu this week: leftover matches…

This week, yours truly got a side of leftovers for my matches.  Out of the 1300 closed matches in my account, I was re-matched with two of them, from about a year ago, that closed me out.  I guess it says something about me that a) I can remember being matched to them before and b) the fact that I’ve been on the service this long and am still searching…

How did this happen? (because it is not supposed to happen…)

The matching system shouldn’t have re-matched me with them.  The only scenario I can envision that reconciles this is that they created new profiles.  I guess this says something about consistency of their system and the personality tests.  I’m pretty sure mine has had some changes.  I would imagine there were some changes to theirs given a year, yet whatever factors may have changed (if they have), we still ended up being matched.

So, what happened:

  • One closed me again (pursuing another relationship)
  • The other one, interestingly enough, did not.  Not only did she not close me, but she proceeded to communicate.

What can I conclude from this?

Profile mangling and new pictures probably have helped me get better overall results.

Has anyone else encountered this situation and what were your results?

Yes I believe they took the test again. There were no signs at the door that this isn’t permitted. If one lost her password or lost access to her old email, it would make sense to start a new profile.

No I’ve never gotten repeat matches.

Ch-ch-changes. Time for a cool change.

It’s hard to say what happened. Your profile could be better. These women could be more receptive. Or something else. It’s figure out how a woman decides things, really.
