Tips and tricks: “The eHarmony Match Circuit”

A Match Circuit refers to a list of zip / postal codes where an eHarmony subscriber is willing to relocate to find his or her matches.

A Match Circuit is necessary because eHarmony’s matching system, for a match, requires both people be willing to search as far as the other. Since the default distance for match searches is only 30 miles (50km), and commonsense says, “start small,” if an eHarmony subscriber tells the system he lives somewhere else, he’ll meet more matches.

For example, if he lives in downtown Denver, Colorado — the top city searching eHarmony in Google — but is willing to relocate anywhere in his state to find the love of his life, the map of Colorado gives him the following Match Circuit (sorted by population):

Denver 80002
Fort Collins 80521
Colorado Springs 80901
Longmont 80501
Grand Junction 81501
Pueblo 81001
Burlington 80807
La Junta 81050
Glenwood Springs 81601

(Denver and Fort Collins, though part of one metropolitan area, are separate because they are more than 30 miles apart. One can find zip codes in many web references.)

How does it work? Whenever he feels like traveling, what this subscriber does is change his zip code to one in the list and click “Find New Matches.” We call this a Match Circuit because he travels from city to city in a circuit to meet people. Musicians do it all the time.

If you’re not getting matches, try this trick sometime. If you find this tip helpful, leave us a message.
